On 6 October 2011, SpainSIF held its second annual conference at the headquarters of the Economic and Social Council in Madrid.

Over 150 people from the financial sector including management companies, SRI service providers, non-profit-making organisations, unions, as well as members of the CNMV (Spanish stock markets authority) and the Spanish Ministry of Finance and the Economy came together to exchange ideas on the advances made in the area of SRI, especially in terms of "Corporate Pension Funds" in Europe and Spain.

SRI plays an increasingly important role in Spanish political life and in the financial culture of institutional investors. According to the study carried out by SpainSIF, 50% of corporate pension funds apply SRI policies.

During the conference, Michel Lemonnier, Head of Development of Socially Responsible Investment at Groupama Asset Management, presented the SRI market model in France and also took part in a working group on engagement policy.

The participation of Groupama Asset Management in SpainSIF and its expertise in the area of SRI represents, for the Spanish branch of Groupama AM, a real asset in terms of responding positively to the expectations of this market.
