After initially soft-closing the Groupama Avenir Euro fund by imposing a charge of 10% on new investors, Groupama Asset Management has today announced that this measure will now be extended to existing investors. This decision aims to preserve the management conditions and performance prospects of this stock‑picking fund in the specific universe of eurozone small and mid-caps.

The Groupama Avenir Euro fund has grown significantly in size over the last 5 years, to the point that today it has a total asset base of 1.4 billion euros. This commercial success is the result of a high-performing management strategy that draws on the outstanding expertise of Groupama Asset Management in European High-Conviction Equity, and more specifically in the small and mid-cap segment.

To continue applying a management strategy appropriate to the capacities of the fund, and to pursue its quest for high performance, Groupama Asset Management has decided to harden the soft closure of the fund by applying an initial charge of maximum 10% to all new subscriptions – including those from existing investors.

Groupama Avenir Euro has received regular awards for its performance.1. For the 2nd consecutive year, the fund was rated the best in its category in Europe and Switzerland over 3 and 5 years in the Lipper Fund Awards 2017. Like all equity funds, Groupama Avenir Euro implies exposure to stocks risk, capital loss risk and liquidity risk.

Continuity and development of the management strategy

Given the success of the management strategy implemented for the Groupama Avenir Euro fund, Groupama Asset Management has developed and is continuing to develop its range of funds in the Eurozone Small and Mid Caps segment, with G Fund Avenir Europe (ISIN Code: LU0675297070- Class IC eur), which is managed by the same team of experts. The stock-picking process is identical to that of Groupama Avenir Euro, but the investment universe has been expanded to cover the whole of Europe.
