Groupama Asset Management expands its fields of specialized excellence with the recruitment of Philippe Chaumel
Philippe Chaumel is joining Groupama Asset Management. With the recruitment of such a well-known and experienced figure, Groupama AM is paving the way for a new expert team specializing in value investment (based on the franchise value of undervalued stocks), thereby filling out its multi-specialist range of management teams.
With long experience both in portfolio management and in marketing investments to institutional investors and professionals in distribution, Philippe Chaumel will be able to develop the investment management capabilities of Groupama AM in major European stocks and will help to structure the range of funds focusing on this specialized domain.
In line with the philosophy of Groupama AM, his conviction-based approach, founded on in-depth equity market analysis and rigorous stock-picking, will provide opportunities for the proposal of new investment solutions.
The expertise and experience of Philippe Chaumel in equity management will enable us to expand our management range even further, with the ability to offer our investors high value-added investments. Aged 55, Philippe Chaumel has more than 33 years of experience on the financial markets, in both intermediation and asset management.
Between 2017 and 2020, Philippe Chaumel was part of French investment management company SPPI Finance, where he launched and managed two funds.
Between 2003 and 2016, he was Associate Manager and Co-Director of Investment Management at Rothschild & Cie Gestion, where he contributed to the development of the equity, fixed income and diversified investment management teams.
Before that, Philippe Chaumel worked at Goldman Sachs (Executive Director France 2002-2003), Schroders (1999-2000), Abn Amro Securities (1988-1999 and 2000-2001).
Philippe Chaumel graduated from the ESCP business school, where he majored in International Finance, and is a member of the French Society of Financial Analysts (SFAF).
