Groupama AM wins award at the Morningstar Awards Week
Every year, Morningstar announces its awards issued in France to identify the funds and asset managers that have generated the most value for the investors in their category during the past year.
The Morningstar Fund House Awards are given to the fund families that have durably outperformed the competition in their fund range, on a risk-adjusted basis.
Asset management companies are only eligible for the Morningstar Fund House Awards if they have at least five Morningstar-rated equity funds available for sale on the relevant market during the previous year.
With this award, the jury recognized France Stock IC as the Best France Large-Cap Equity Fund.
Groupama France Stock is an active management fund invested essentially in French securities with no cap size constraints. It stands out from the pack due to our ability to identify long-term promising trends and to select companies that we consider will generate value for the shareholder. It is the reflection of both our financial and non-financial convictions. Our analysis of the companies is fundamental, and our fund management is discretionary: we maintain regular contact with the issuing companies to verify the coherence, consistency and execution of their strategy over time. Our aim is to support their development over the long term. We select the most responsible investments, and ESG criteria are included in the socially responsible investment (SRI) policy of the fund.
France is a fertile soil for innovation, and Groupama AM has long experience in French equity. The company’s expertise is especially evidenced by the fact that its management performance is regularly at the top end of the rankings (for the second consecutive year, Groupama AM has won the European Funds Trophy award for the best European asset management company in the category of companies with 41 to 70 rated funds.

More about the Morningstar Fund House Awards
The Morningstar Fund House Awards are given to fund families that have durably outperformed the competition in their fund range, on a risk-adjusted basis.
Asset management companies are only eligible for the Morningstar Fund House Awards if they have at least five Morningstar-rated equity funds available for sale on the relevant market during the previous year.
Morningstar calculated its “House Scores” using the following methodology:
- Determine the Morningstar 5-year risk-adjusted return (MRAR*) for each stock category in each fund managed by a particular fund house, and the percentile rank of this return score in its Morningstar category.
- Determine the median percentile rank of the MRAR of each fund, on the basis of the mean percentile rank of the MRAR of each of its classes.
- Determine the median percentile rank of the MRAR of each fund house, on the basis of the percentile ranks of the MRAR of its funds (the lower the percentile rank of a group, the better its performance).
Finally, a qualitative check is carried out by the research team to ensure that the factors responsible for the fund’s performance remain valid – in particular, the stability of the management team or of the pursued strategy.
