Politica di esclusione del settore del carbone

Nel novembre 2019, Groupama AM ha preso la decisione di attuare una politica determinata ad escludere il settore del carbone dai propri investimenti con l’obiettivo di ridurre l’esposizione verso i rischi climatici, siano essi rischi fisici o rischi di transizione.

Dal 1 gennaio 2022, Groupama AM ha smesso di investire in società che sviluppano un maggiore impiego di carbone, per essere coerente con gli scenari climatici che impongono di non finanziare più progetti di centrali elettriche, miniere o infrastrutture a carbone.

Questa politica si applica sia a criteri di esclusione relativa, e cioè sono escluse tutte le imprese il cui fatturato o mix di produzione di energia elettrica si basa per oltre il 20% sul carbone; sia a criteri di esclusione assoluta, e cioè sono escluse le società la cui produzione annua di carbone supera i 20 milioni di tonnellate e quelle la cui capacità installata di centrali a carbone supera i 10 GW.

Le diverse soglie di esclusione sono fissate in linea con una graduale abbandono del carbone secondo i requisiti dell’accordo di Parigi e verranno periodicamente abbassate, per portarsi verso l’azzeramento dell’esposizione dei portafogli di investimento al carbone termico entro il 2030, per gli investimenti ubicati in Paesi dell’Unione Europea e dell’OCSE, ed entro il 2040 per quelli ubicati nel resto del mondo.
